FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE. Monday, January 12th, 2026 | LONDON, UK — Orna Ross announces launch of Indie Author Lab in association with the Alliance of Independent Authors and The London Book Fair.
Indie Author Lab is a new, person-centred learning program created specifically for independent authors by Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi) founder Orna Ross. The program launches with an in-person event on Wednesday 11th March 2026 at Kensington Town Hall, as part of London Book Fair week and sponsored by the Fair.
Designed for depth, focus, and meaningful connection, Indie Author Lab brings together dedicated self-publishing authors for practical learning, small-group mentoring, and community-led support.
“This program is about slowing things down and going deeper,” says Orna Ross. “Indie Author Lab at The London Book Fair creates a space where authors can step away from the noise for one of the London Book Fair days to focus fully on their work, their goals, and the next steps for their publishing business—supported by experts and peers who fully understand the independent path.”
A Practical, Author-Centred Format
Indie Author Lab is structured around an interactive workbook, designed to help authors identify and work through their most pressing self-publishing challenge. It offers a flexible format, that can be run as a half-day or full-day in-person event, but the program offers a more immersive and reflective experience than a typical writer’s conference.
Indie Author Lab Online offers an ongoing space for focus, and forward motion–designed around the author’s self-identified unfolding challenges, refreshed by the best thinking from the global indie author calendar, and led personally by Orna month on month through the author section of her Substack.
